Sustained throughput matters more than peak speed
Video is downloaded in segments. A route may run very quickly for a short time and then slow down repeatedly, causing the player to reduce resolution or buffer. Test by playing high-quality content continuously and watching for repeated quality drops instead of running a single speed test.
Jitter amplifies instability on cross-border links
Even with low average latency, inconsistent arrival times can quickly drain the player’s buffer. If the picture is sharp and then suddenly becomes blurry, switch to another route in the same region first, then check whether large local transfers are also using the network.
Dolby Vision also depends on the complete playback chain
The platform must provide a compatible source, the account must have the relevant entitlement, and the device, app, display, and connection method must support the format. A route only transports data; it cannot give an unsupported device the ability to display that format. If standard high quality works but the Dolby Vision badge does not appear, check the device and platform requirements first.
Multiple devices share local bandwidth
VPNMu supports unlimited devices, but that does not mean the available bandwidth on a home network increases with every device. Several devices streaming, downloading, or syncing at once still share the current connection. When troubleshooting quality, pause other high-traffic tasks and see whether playback stabilizes.
